December 5 was the official kickoff event for the Jade Bahr - HD 50 campaign at CRAFT LOCAL! A lot of people took the opportunity to meet and mingle with the candidate and her team. The kickoff featured live music, guest speakers, and on-site voter registration assistance. Visitors could get first-hand information about Jade Bahr's campaign while at the same time enjoying an almost family- like atmosphere in Craft local. Peter Funnell & Laura Keating were there to provide fabulous musical entertainment and background accompaniment. The guest speaker said many wonderful things about Jade. "I had the opportunity over the last few month to see what kind of worker Jade is! She may strike you as being way too nice, but she is educated and she is a hard worker!", - Senator Margie Macdonald said "I know that you will do wonderful job in Helena and you will represent the people right here in Billings!", - City Council Rep Denise Joy said "She is a very hard worker and she will do everything that is needed to win that race!", - Senator Jen Gross said A great impression was made by the speech of City Council Rep Penny Ronning: "How differently would look our state today, how differently the children would be served, how differently the people with disabilities would be served how differently the compassion of US would look if females had at minimum 50% representation! And here what is going to take. It is going to take Jade Bahr being elected!... You have to make your voice heard and Jade you are doing that!", - Ronning said Jade's speech was very sincere. She told her personal story and it helped the guests even better understand her motivation and believe even more in Jade as a strong personality and a true leader. Jade believes in raising the voices of the most vulnerable Montanans by advocating for investment in critical programs for person with disabilities, our senior citizens, our youth, and our veterans. She also believes in protecting our public lands and strengthening workers' rights. Now the Billings Public Library is conducting research, but it is possible, if Jade Bahr will be elected, she will become the youngest Native American woman elected to this post in Montana, and possibly in the United States.
